1. Payment of Fines: Fines shall be paid in full within two months after the judgment is finalized. Failure to make payment within the specified period will result in enforced collection.
2. Request for Installment Payment of Fines: If the convicted person is unable to pay the fine in full at once, they may request to pay the fine in installments within two months after the judgment is finalized.
3. Approval of Installment Payment of Fines: Upon accepting the request, the prosecutor may consider the convicted person's family and financial situation and grant permission for installment payment. The installment period may not exceed eight installments, and it should be completed within the remaining duration of the statute of limitations. However, for fines below NT$5,000, the convicted person should be encouraged to pay in full if possible.
4. Notification of Approved Installment Payment: If installment payment is approved, the prosecutor shall notify the convicted person in writing or orally about the payment due dates, amounts, and consequences of non-compliance. In the case of an oral notification, it should be recorded by a clerk.
5. Proxy for Installment Payment: The spouse, blood relatives within the third degree, or relatives by marriage within the second degree of a person who is detained, wanted, or serving community service may inquire about the fine amount and be authorized to handle the installment payment procedure on their behalf.
6. Collection of Fines outside Office Hours: During non-office hours or holidays, a designated representative will collect fines and issue temporary receipts, which can be exchanged for official payment receipts during office hours.
7. Installment payment is divided into monthly installments. If one installment is not paid on time, the prosecutor may revoke the permission for installment payment and proceed with full enforcement or community service according to the law.
8. In cases where installment payment is granted after being wanted and apprehended, if the convicted person fails to make subsequent payments and is subject to arrest or reapprehension, they are not eligible to request installment payment again.
